Dr. Peter P. Guzzo, the founder of TTP, brings to the business of government relations The Total Package of experience. This includes 25 years of employment in the legislative and executive branches of the NJ. state government, two terms as an elected municipal officeholder, including mayor, and holding the elected office of treasurer of a county political organization and the President of TTP since 1994. This broad and in-depth experience is reflected in Dr. Guzzo's knowledge of the workings of the government and the political process as well as his demonstrated grasp of how to articulate and strategize important public policy positions.
During his government and political career, Dr. Guzzo has prepared policy papers and legislation ranging from banking to recycling reforms. He is most noted for his expertise in the area of insurance, especially automobile insurance, and has dealt with all 19 N.J. state executive departments and the courts.
While employed by the N.J. state legislature, he worked with leadership and members of both major political parties and served as an aide to a number of legislative committees and commissions.
In his last position in state government, as director of legislative affairs for the N.J. Department of Insurance, he testified many times before some of these same committees to advance the department's positions.
Dr. Guzzo has also worked in numerous political campaigns and fund raising efforts on the state, local and government levels.
Dr. Guzzo's unique combination of educational background and government experience acumen are enhanced by his concise written and verbal communication skills well-suited for government, politics and public relations.
The respect shown to him by the members of both political parties is the result of his affable and professional style, his ability to work with diverse interest groups, his dedication to hard work, and his commitment to successfully meet his goals.
